Steven Hill was a prolific modern architect of the 80’s and 90’s building in Silver Lake and Los Feliz areas. A favorite of locals and real estate agents alike, Steven was known for clean, modern lines in his hillside properties.
Built in 1998, 2329 Lake View is one of his later homes. It exhibits his classic sleek modern minimalist exterior. Upon entering the home using keyless entry, we’re greeted by a vaulted ceiling and an open staircase. We are then treated to an ample size living room with walls of windows, a fireplace and a balcony, one of many outdoor spaces. From this vantage point, we get a feel for the architect’s use of multi-level loft like interiors. On the second level, the open and upgraded kitchen includes a unique blend of stainless steel and wood cabinetry with such features as a farm sink and Miele dishwasher. Another open space off the kitchen is perfect for morning coffee. The dining area off the kitchen allows for conversation with the chef. And the architectural cut outs create an additional design and useful element to the space. On the far end of this level is a ¾ bath and a bedroom perfectly situated for a home office. The room has stylized, custom, inset shelving for displays or functional usage. The top level of the home features another guest bedroom with an outdoor balcony that runs the length of the home. The spacious master bedroom features a cedar lined walk in closet and your own fireplace to bask in the warm heat of the soft flames on a cozy fall evening. The galley style master bathroom is lined with 3 sinks and a separate shower and tub. As we exit the master bedroom onto the generous balcony, we are treated to a serene and expansive outdoor setting. A short jaunt to a hardscaped platform allows for the enjoyment of nature along with sweeping views of Mt. Washington and the San Gabriel mountains. Some other great features of the home include NEST wireless technology, USB power ports and utility saving LED lighting throughout. The home resides in the heart of some of L.A.’s best shopping, restaurants and the new 365 by Whole Foods. Moments from freeway access and close proximity to all that downtown LA and Hollywood have to offer, this architectural home embodies a true Silver Lake lifestyle.
